This is going to totally blow your mind! Only 10 years old, Maya Neelakantan wowed everyone with her performance of Papa Roach’s Last Resort on America’s Got Talent, with nothing but pure strings! This young guitarist didn’t sing the lines, yet she gave the audience and the judges a viral moment.
The judges were keen to find out more about this up and coming rock artist. Maya was thrilled and Howie Mandel asked, “Who inspires you to play like that?” Then she named off her two biggest inspirations, Adam Jones from Tool and Gary Holt from Slayer and Exodus. Howie couldn’t help but say, “I think you just picked yourself up a viral moment!” Maya’s performance was perfectly suited for going viral, and he was right.

And Heidi Klum jumped in and said, “Everyone loved your performance!’ The whole room was charged with excitement. When the judges had to make their decision, it was a no brainer. Simon Cowell, who is notoriously difficult to please, even praised her for being very talented and confident at such a young age. Then, a loud and ecstatic yes was answered by four judges.
