Creating a patriotic feeling in the children right from their childhood helps shape minds. Values that focus on citizenship, when instilled in children early can have a deep effect their entire lives about the role they play within society.
Appreciating the struggles of previous generation matters, if one has to know why they are enjoying all this freedom and privileges that others never enjoyed. By teaching children to value these sacrifices it can reinforce a sense of national pride and also create an understanding, even from a young age, that every generation is paying-it-forward in the hope not to have repeat such traumatic experiences.
It has always been a cornerstone of American identity and emotion — that peek into ordinary experience during an extraordinary moment in our history. The lyrics were derived from a poem by Francis Scott Key, “Defence of Fort M’Henry”, written during the British assault on nearby Fort McHenry in 1814. Somehow that night the American flag waving still gave proof to Key through words we hear and sing today of national pride, unity. 
Today, the national anthem is part and parcel of major events or sports fixtures across the country. This serves as a reminder, no matter what color you are or religion you believe in the anthem unites ALL OF US AS AMERICANS. The performance is traditionally staged with audience members being requested to stand to pay the respect and honor for hundred of thousands who have sacrificed their lives so that our country can be free.
In spite of its powerful message, many young people appear to have forgotten the importance of standing during the anthem. The challenging lyrics and musical setting generally make this something done by professional singers, or a recorded performance. And yet, young voices somehow seem to capture the essence of this anthem very efficiently, one example being a ten year old boy with an uncannily breathtaking voice Jadon Perez.
Jadon came to fame in Canada after singing the national anthem at a golf tournament fundraiser. His angelic voice won the audience over and deep inside, he had stirred their hearts with memories of patriotism fused in faith within that anthem. His singing was described by observers as emotional and related to the valor, heroism and sacrifices that are part of what the anthem is about. A retired army veteran commented by saying how Jadon’s talent demonstrated what America is all about.
So at times like this, standing during the national anthem becomes more than a ritual — it’s an expression of gratitude for our founders’ courage. With this erasing of the national identity, demonstrations distinction and recognition to our youth who will soon grow up and continue with these tradition is important so that we can all unify as a country. And one must show respect for each other if you want to be treated like an adult yet it has gone over everyone’s head.
