70-year-old Frank Watkinson has many incredible covers and originals on his YouTube channel. But one stand out is his stripped-down acoustic cover of Radiohead’s “Creep.” Delivering it with soft vocals and a melancholy feel, it’s no wonder it has garnered more than 2 million views! If you’re a Radiohead fan, surely you will appreciate Frank’s rendition.
Frank will occasionally take requests to cover songs, and this is how this amazing gem came to be, and we have to say, it did not disappoint! He will also surprise you with his beautifully poetic original songs. As well as not shying away from songs you would think are an unlikely choice for a 70-year-old. Such as Slipknot’s “Snuff.” But not for Frank! Check out his rendition of it below.
Frank has quite the dedicated fan base as his YouTube channel has an impressive 980,000 subscribers and continues to grow. It’s clear that he has won the hearts of many listeners. Even capturing viral attention with various covers he’s done, but he remains humble. For example, stating in his YouTube bio, “Just performing songs my way, nothing too serious, we can’t all be polished professionals but that shouldn’t be a reason not to sing.”
